MATERIA MEDICA WITH REPERTORY  BY WILLIAM BOERICKE M.D.

An old standby, been used for many years and is acclaimed for it's concise, accurate portability, has a useful short repertory at the back of book. If you want to save money, this is one answer, if possible get one which has the relationship of remedies included in some editions. Cheap

CONCORDANT MATERIA MEDICA by  Frans Vermeulen

   An excellent condensed materia medica, no duplications, a compilation of 11 of the most respected classical authors. Drawback:  Expensive.

The best materia medica for constitutional prescribing:

  A great volume, has much background information on each remedy.  Everything from the esoteric to the chemical descriptions. The most useful are the main symptom section where he inserts quotes from known authors for many keynotes. Expensive
